Three’s Electric: Plugged-in Deli(very) Expands Fleet

Three University of Leeds vans outside the great hall

The University of Leeds Catering Department is accelerating its commitment to sustainability with the expansion of its electric delivery fleet.

Investing in electric

What began with the introduction of the first electric van in 2024, has now grown to three fully electric vehicles, supporting a greener, cleaner campus.

The Deli(very) fleet now includes two electric vans and one compact electric utility vehicle.

This initiative is part of the University’s broader strategy to reduce carbon emissions and promote environmentally responsible operations. By replacing traditional diesel vehicles with electric alternatives, we’re cutting down on air pollution and contributing to a healthier campus environment.

Why it matters

  • Lower emissions for a cleaner campus.
  • Reduced noise pollution.
  • Supporting the University’s sustainability goals.

These vehicles are already in action, delivering food and supplies across campus while showcasing the Deli(very)’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.
