Located in the new Esther Simpson building on the edge of Woodhouse Moor, the café is modern and relaxed, serving speciality coffee from Darkwoods.

Located in the new Esther Simpson building on the edge of Woodhouse Moor, taking its name and inspiration from the Leeds University alumna, Esther Simpson. Esther Simpson graduated from Leeds in 1924 and dedicated much of her working life helping refugee scholars.

The café is designed with style and function in mind. The space is equipped with plenty of charging sockets, making it a great place to study while you enjoy cup of speciality coffee from Darkwoods. It also offers a sociable and relaxed environment, perfect for meeting with friends or colleagues for a chilled lunch break.

If it’s a bite to eat you are looking for, Esther Simpson café has a great selection of both modern and classic food options, including vegan and gluten free choices. Made using locally and ethically sourced ingredients, you can enjoy our range classic sandwiches, flavourful flatbreads or all-vegan cakes.
